The Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic is a high body of judicial power for protection of the Constitution of Kyrgyz Republic, which independently exercises judicial power through the constitutional proceedings. Organization, competence and   order of the activity of the Constitutional Court are determined by the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, laws «On Constitutional Court of Kyrgyz Republic» and «On constitutional proceedings of Kyrgyz Republic».

Composition, election procedure and term of the Constitutional Court’s judge.

Constitutional Court of Kyrgyz Republic consists of 9 judges. Their candidatures considered and elected by Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic on submission of the President of Kyrgyz Republic before attaining the age limit (no younger than 35 years and no older than 70 years of age).

The President and Deputy president of the Constitutional Court shall be appointed from among the judges of the Constitutional Court by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic with the agreement of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic for  five years term.

The Constitutional Court of Kyrgyz Republic cooperates with many judicial and other constitutional control bodies of foreign states. Cooperation realizes in form of international theoretical and practical conferences, seminars as well as participation of judges of the Constitutional Court on international bilateral and multilateral meetings. Such forms of cooperation have great importance for deepen mutual understanding and exchange with practical experience between courts of different countries.

During the Constitutional Court’s activity, judges of the Constitutional court took part in a large
number of official events, which further expand cooperation and coordination with the most authoritative international bodies.
From the beginning of the  Constitutional Court’s activity the delegations of judges from high body of judicial power  of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Belarus, Georgia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russia, United States , South Africa, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, France, Scotland and Japan were visited the Constitutional court of Kyrgyz Republic.
By-turn Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic received high courts delegations from Azerbaijan, Germany, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, USA, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, France and others.

In addition, the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic actively cooperates with such international organizations as European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), International Union of Lawyers, «Furth Family Foundation», Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, as well as takes part in such international conferences as:  Erevan International Conference on constitutional justice (Armenia), The Conference of Asian Constitutional court judges, World conference on constitutional justice and other public organizations.
